Hi Folks.
Yep! I`m really enjoying playing trombone and and it`s coming together now. Reading is getting easier and I`ve a practice routine too.
Just thinking.... here are 8 lazy reasons for wanting to play trombone in a brass band.
- Troms are easy to blow because of the shortage of tubing.
- You can keep the trom out of it`s case, saving the nuisance of having to get it out and put it away again.
- Troms are easy to clean. No messy fiddling with valves and springs and cleaning round valve cases.
- There`s not too many semi quaver runs written.
- You always get a few bars rest in a hymn tune.
- Trombones always have an instrument stand as standard issue.
- You can always get out of helping wind bands and orchestra`s coz you can`t read bass clef.
- Trombone players are seated nearest the bar.

Hi Band (and Fred & Audrey), I thoroughly enjoyed helping out at the private party gig in Dover earlier this month, as a mere concert band trumpeter I always relish the chance to play brass. I enjoyed meeting a few faces from the past even though Fred and Audrey weren`t there. I do love your brass band camaraderie and wish I had the time to fulfill your vacant tutti solo cornet spot but unfortunately my other commitments prevent me giving the quality time the position demands. However, I would be only too pleased to help out again in the future if ever you`re desperate. Best wishes to you all, Tony

Richie, my wife and i are both coming down to Folkestone 1st July for 1 week on holiday. We are both players in a brass band and sad as it may be are looking to listen to a brass band at a concert or possibly a rehearsal. I would be obliged for any information.
