The band competed in the local SCABA (Southern Counties Amateur Band Association) Spring Contest at Hove Town Hall again this year

The Snowdown Colliery Welfare Brass Band competed in the London and Southern Counties Regional qualifiers for the Natioanl Brass Band Championships of Great Britian this weekend.
The band travelled the 105 mile trip by coach and arrived by midday and after a practice at The Thomas Allyne School made their way to the contest location, the Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre.
The 4th Section draw was made and Snowdown were drawn to play 15th of the 16 bands competing. After a long and nervous 5 hour wait, the band finally took to the stage and played Saint-Saens Variations (arr. Phillip Sparke).
The band played well, and were awarded a 9th place. A great improvement over previous years. Full 4th Section results are published on the London and Southern Counties Region website

Snowdown Colliery Welfare Band competed in the Southern Counties Amateur Band Association's (S.C.A.B.A.) annual Folkestone contest today.

The band played well to a full audience and were placed THIRD by the contest adjudicator, Philip Harper.

The Snowdown Colliery Welfare Band performed along with The Canterbury Orchestra and Singer Rachel Gillingham in the Charity Concert organised by the Rotary Club on the 3rd Oct 2009.
The Concert was held at The Kings Hall in Herne Bay.

The Snowdown Colliery Welfare Band and the Snowdown Colliery Welfare Male Voice Choir performed together at a joint concert on the Saturday 12th September 2009 at the Tower Theatre in Folkestone.

The band worked hard and played well during this years Southern Counties Amateur Band Association Contest in Brighton and attained a well earned 2nd place.
Keith Pritchard, our Principle Cornet player also won the `Best Instrumentalist` prize. Well done Keith.

The Snowdown Colliery Welfare Band is extremely pleased to announce that Mr. Kevin Spencer LLCM, LRSM, NABBC, has accepted the position of Musical Director. The band hopes he has a long and successful time with the band.
